An upcoming national television comedy special entitled “National Lampoons Vacation” will air on a cable network on Sunday, August 4.
The special is part of a two-hour production that will also feature a special “National Holiday Special.”
“National Vacation,” a four-part, 10-minute special that aired on the network in November, will be the first time “National Laugh-In” has aired on cable since 2005.
“National Laughter in Vacation”, a 12-episode special that debuted in February, will air next week.
The new series, which stars “The Office” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm” star Chris Rock, is directed by Michael Orenstein, who previously worked on “The Simpsons” and is also producing the film.
“I am so thrilled to be back on this network and be able to be part of the fun and exciting world of ‘National Laughs,'” Rock said in a statement.
Rock has been starring in “National Comedies,” a short-form comedy series on MTV that airs on Thursdays and Fridays.
“This special will be a real blast for me and my family, and I’m looking forward to sharing with everyone what makes ‘National Laugh In’ the best comedy special ever,” Rock said.
Rock, who is also an executive producer on “National Jokes,” is also known for his comedic roles on “Family Guy” and in films such as “Sleeping With Other People,” “The Dictator,” “Dancing With the Stars,” “Caddyshack,” “Pee Wee’s Big Adventure,” “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” and others.
He is repped by CAA.
